Who is this best for?
Black Girl Sunscreen can be used on ALL skin types. The Avocado oil and Jojoba oils make this sunscreen the perfect moisturizer for drier skin types and the best protection against UV rays for all skin types.
What are the Key Benefits?
Our favorite benefit of this sunscreen is that it dries completely clear without the white residue that typically leaves darker skin with a white cast. Unlike other sunscreens this sunscreen is free of toxins that disrupt your hormones!
*Free of Oxybenzone and Octinoxate
Why is it Adaya approved?
This is one of our favorite sunscreens because it's safe to use and has added ingredients that help even out your complexion, provide hydration, and helps to aid against hyperpigmentation.
Behind the brand
Black Girl Sunscreen is a black-owned and female founded company. Shontay Lundy, the creator of Black Girl Sunscreen wants people who have darker skin to know that while you have more natural protection than people with lighter skin tones, we’re still at risk for burns, cosmetic sun damage and—most importantly—skin cancer. Creating Black Girl Sunscreen was her answer to the commonly asked question, "Do black people need sunscreen?"
How to Use
First time using sunscreen? Don't worry we have an easy breakdown on how to apply the perfect amount and when to so that you receive the protection you need.
First, you should know that SPF is only fully effective for two hours after you put it on and that you should apply 15 min before stepping outside.
So, we recommend applying a nickel size of the Black Girl Sunscreen to your face daily and especially before going outside. Re apply every 2 hours as needed. If you are wearing a top that shows off your chest and or shoulders make sure to use them there as well! Your skin on your chest is just as important as the skin on your face.
Since this sunscreen acts as a moisturizer and SPF you can skip your normal moisturizer if you want and just use your new sunscreen for both!
